What’s New at Ponte Vista?

While the Ponte Vista project has been in the entitlement process, the Ponte Vista site hasn’t remained vacant:  many of you will have noticed the hundred or so sheep, goats and other livestock employed to keep the site free from brush and weeds.

One of the ways that Ponte Vista supports our local community has been to welcome local law enforcement who wish to use the site for training first responders.  Literally dozens of law enforcement agencies have trained at Ponte Vista, including:

  • LAPD Gang Task Force
  • LAPD Metro Division
  • LA Sheriffs Dept. (various units)
  • LA District Attorney’s Office
  • Los Angeles Port Police
  • LA County Fire Dept.
  • US Coast Guard
  • California Highway Patrol
  • US Department of Justice
  • US Department of Defense
  • US Homeland Security
  • FBI
  • US Drug Enforcement Agency
  • Police Departments of Torrance, Beverly Hills, Baldwin Park, El Segundo, Buena Park, Hawthorne, Huntington Park, Inglewood, Redondo Beach, and Long Beach PD SWAT.

Here are some photos of recent LAPD training exercises at Ponte Vista.
