Open Space
A Community Centered on Open Space
Ponte Vista will dedicate 40% of the community to open space and public parks. Spaces will be designed to provide an abundant network of resort-like features with walking trails, pedestrian paseos and gardens.
More than 13 acres of Ponte Vista will be open to public use, including a six-acre public park with youth playing fields and a nearly three-acre village green designed for relaxation and special events.
A Ponte Vista Waterscape Concourse will run through the residential areas of the Ponte Vista community and lead to a large reflection pool near the Village Green for public enjoyment. The feature will be a key element of the design of Ponte Vista to create visual interest along pedestrian pathways with waterfalls, bridges and passive seating areas for relaxation.
Natural Habitat Project
An exciting habitat project is proposed along Ponte Vista's northern border, which is adjacent to our senior housing village. We plan to replant the slope with native plants found along the dry, rocky slopes on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, including California sagebrush, deerweed, California buckwheat and coast goldenbush. Native bunch grasses would include purple needlegrass and coast range melic. This natural buffer zone will provide very special opportunities to view and experience the wildlife attracted by the habitat.
