With the new, completed traffic study in hand, Ponte Vista is proposing a transportation plan that maximizes the flow of traffic along Western Avenue and other important roadways in the community.
As outlined in the EIR, the new traffic study has identified 16 intersections where potential impacts exist once Ponte Vista is built. Of these intersections, most are within the City of Los Angeles, and many of the intersections are located in multiple cities/jurisdictions (for example, the intersection of Western Avenue and Westmont Drive, which is located in Los Angeles, Rancho Palos Verdes, and in the jurisdiction of CALTrans). The developer will construct these traffic improvements to offset any future traffic impacts prior to the development of housing on the Ponte Vista site. Traffic improvements recommended in the EIR include additional traffic lanes, lengthened turn pockets, and traffic signal improvements.
