Vision
Need for Housing
Development and Design Team
Today in Los Angeles, only 40% of residents can afford to own a home. Many employees in the area are driving long distances to reach affordable housing, clogging our freeways and surface streets. The City of Los Angeles is lagging behind in the construction of new homes to meet the needs of a growing population. By one estimate, the Harbor Area needs to build an additional 9,771 homes by 2010 in order to keep pace with regional housing demands.
One of the primary objectives of Ponte Vista is to provide a range of homeownership opportunities available to the widest range of buyers with special purchasing programs designed for teachers, police officers, fire fighters and working families so they can afford to live in the community they serve.
